There have been some very exciting changes here at FBS Football. I will go over each one in as much detail as I can.

  1. A new forum engine. The software running FBSFB is a custom built (by me) forum engine that will gain more features and become more polish as time goes on. Honestly it was built to fit my needs and wants in forum software. Because it is custom built I have the ability to make it do what I want it to do. So watch for more polish and more features to be added in the future as the forum software is in active development.

  2. We have the Pick'em like we had on Flarum so nothing really changed there. It's back for people to enjoy making picks to see how good they are at predicting who wins each game each week.

  3. I have built a custom Fantasy Football module similar to what ESPN and CBS Sports has where you can draft a team and compete in a fantasy league.

  4. A complete roster module for all FBS football teams broken down by conference. When you click on a school it will bring up a list of players on the roster and when you click on a player it will pull up information about that player. There is also a portal tracker and recruiting board built in as well with links to both.

  5. Favorite teams is back where members can pick their favorite FBS team. This is shown under the users avatar.

There will be more features added not only for this site but for the forum software itself. So keep an eye on this post for new additions. Thank you for your time.

A few more things have gone in, and these ones are for game day.

Game threads that make themselves. Every game on the schedule now gets its own thread about three hours before kickoff, in the home team's forum. It goes live when the ball is kicked, and when the game is over the final score is posted in it. Nobody has to remember to make one, and there is only ever one per game, so the conversation does not end up split across three threads with twelve replies each. This starts with week one on the 29th.

Afterwards the thread is just a thread. It stays where it is, it is searchable, and you can quote it in March when you are arguing about what happened.

A scoreboard beside the conversation. While a game thread is live there is a panel next to it with the score in it, so you are not flipping to another tab to find out what it is.

Your pick'em record next to your name. Once the season is going and picks are being made, your record shows beside your name on your posts. Trash talk with receipts.

Explore. There is now a map of the board at /explore — threads connected to each other by the quotes, links and tags between them. It is a different way of finding things than newest-first, and it is good for falling into an old argument you missed.
